SECURITY OF INSURERS
We offer the security of a policy underwritten through AIG UK Limited - AIG are "AA" rated on Standard & Poors and currently provide some of the highest security available to schools in this market.
NO CHANGE TO INSURERS
Harrington Bates have used the same Insurers for supply cover for over 6 years and continue to offer contracts through these same insurers for 2008/2009 providing the assurance of continuity for your school.
NO EVIDENCE OF SUPPLY NEEDED
Our policy is a "benefits" policy offering a chosen daily benefit without the need to provide any evidence of supply cover. Thus, your school can make a claim without the need to employ a supply teacher. This cover offers a substantial saving in both time & administration cost.
RENEWAL RUN-OFF COVER INCLUDED
Our policies automatically provide run-off cover for ongoing claims on renewal. Also, since we use established Insurers, the worry of changing Insurer every renewal is minimised.. Some policies offer "ANNUAL CONTRACTS" which may mean that ongoing claims just stop with no further cover.
FLEXIBLE COVER FOR STRESS CLAIMS
Your school has the opportunity to take full cover for stress related illness, or reduced cover of 30 days (per employee). There is no increased excess for stress related claims.
REDUCTION IN BENEFIT
After 100 days, daily benefit reduces by 50%. There is no loss to your school since this simply follows the statutory reduction in salary which you pay to staff who are absent. There is no reduced benefit for stress claims after only 75 days.
JURY SERVICE
10 Days cover is automatically provided for Jury Service for all staff.
PHASED RETURN
Enables school to manage claims more efficiently, allowing for member's gradual return to work over a period of 35 days.
BEREAVEMENT COVER
Cover is automatically included for bereavement - to include spouse, children, parents & siblings.
SIMPLIFIED CLAIMS DOCUMENTATION
We use simplified claims forms designed to ensure minimum problems for the school and for your absent staff. Claims are not dealt with by a computer, but by professional loss adjusters who are sympathetic and responsive to your needs.
INTERRUPTED ABSENCE
There will be no re-application of the waiting period if a staff member returns to work "too soon" and is then absent again within the next 20 working days. In such cases, the claim is treated as a continuation.
MATERNITY COVER
25 days Maternity cover is included on our policy as standard. Increased cover is available on request. You should note when considering Maternity Cover that this represents a "top-up" cover which is available in addition to the statutory entitlement due via your National Insurance payments to the Inland Revenue.
PATERNITY COVER
Available as an option for a small additional premium - PLEASE ASK FOR DETAILS.
AGE LIMITATIONS
Cover is available for all classes of staff from ages 18 years to 65 years inclusive.
CLUSTER DISCOUNTS
If your school is part of a small group, you may be eligible for a further discount on your premium.
